The requirement
of water for the unit is met by pumping water from Thungabhadra
River which is flowing at a distance of about 4 Km from the
factory. With this we have been able to meet our entire water
requirement throughout the year. We have got the necessary sanction
from the Govt. to lift water for industrial use.
At
the River bed we have installed one 100HP, one 70HP, and two
40 HP pumps for pumping water to storage tank installed on a
Hillock from where it comes by gravity to the factory. The storage
capacity of the feeding tank is about 3 lakhs liters.
We
have got a water treatment plant wherein the raw water received
from the river is treated and converted to filter water, Soft
water and Demineralised water which will go for different usages.
The water of Thungabhadra River is known for its portability
and taste.
For
Treatment of Distillery effluent we have got one primary effluent
treatment plant of SGN Technology supplied by M/S. Shakthi Sugars,
Coimbatore which will reduce the BOD by 90% and COD by 70% the
biogas thus generated is used in our boiler as a fuel. The primary
treated effluent is further treated in the secondary ETP supplied
by M/S. Grindwel Norton to bring down the characteristics of
the effluent to the stipulated standards of the pollution control
Board by forcing diffused air into the system.
Finally
the treated effluent is used for irrigation purpose on our own
land. For this purpose we have got about 250 acres of land.
The pollution board has approved our treatment schemes.
We have
a bottling unit at the distillery site having a covered area
of about 50000sq.ft. comprising of bottle washing section, bottling
hall, blending section, packing material godown and finished
goods godown. The bottling hall can easily accommodate six lines.
Our
management is also running The Davangere Sugar Company Ltd., which
is situated at Kukkuwada about 15 kms from Davangere, Mr. S.S.
Ganesh is the Executive Director for Davangere Sugar Company Ltd.
The sugar factory has got a crushing capacity of 2500 MT per day.
We
have also started a sugar Factory in the name of Shamanur Sugars
with a 2500-3500 Tonnes per day of cane crushing capacity which
is just adjacent to our distillery which can meet about 50% of
our annual molasses requirement.
The
process steam what we are using now is the exhaust steam taken
from a back pressure power turbine. The power generated thus is
used for our process. In short we can say that we are self sufficient
in respect of all infrastructures and utilities.
We
have also expanded the capacity of the existing distillery &
the plant is supplied by M/s Distichemi Metal Works, Bilimora.
For this the Govt. has already given the Licence and other legal
consents. In this programme the following salient features have
been accommodated.
